Sizergh Castle Cafe and Shop is frequently praised for its charming location adjacent to a historic National Trust property with extensive gardens and parkland, offering a pleasant setting for visitors. The cafe provides a solid selection of fresh, high-quality food and drinks, including traditional scones and various sandwiches, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. While some find the indoor seating somewhat cramped and note variability in service friendliness, the overall dining experience remains positive. The shop is noted for its wide variety of National Trust merchandise, enhancing the visit. Pricing for bottled water has received minor criticism, but complimentary tap water is accessible. Ample parking and picnic areas add to the convenience for guests exploring the estate.

The house has a very intresting history and architecture but it's that gardens and grounds that are a must see and wander in.

Nice little cafe and shop by the car park. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Bottled water a bit pricey at 3 a bottle, with no cheaper options. You can get glasses of tap water for free in the cafe though. Nice selection of cakes, sandwiches and drinks.

Lovely spot to refresh after exploring the house and gardens. There's a good selection of food, all really fresh, hot, and tasty – definitely good quality. Funnily enough in our case the kitchen staff running out the food to us was friendlier then the counter staff but overall a good experience anyway The atmosphere inside feels a bit cramped and has that "school lunch" vibe, but it's efficient and gets the job done. The outdoor seating area more than makes up for it – really beautiful and a great place to relax

Another wonderful national trust property with loads of history. Multiple rooms open in one wing across 2 levels. Interesting video on the history of the family and the house. Extensive parkland for walks with the dog. Some nice gardens, although nearby Holker Hall gardens are better. Large cafe right at entrance with picnic area out the front. Loads of parking free for members or pay and display.

We stopped here for our obligatory National Trust scone after seeing the house. Obviously one half 'jam on top', the other 'cream on top' thereby guaranteeing we offend someone. :0) Coffee and scones wete good. Plenty of seating inside, also some outside seating if weather OK. The shop is comparatively large and has a good variety of the usual NT items, jams, books, brollies, cuddly toys etc. Loos on site, 2 mins from the carpark.

After a couple of hours exploring the gardens, wooded knoll and barn in the rain, I chatted to the reception staff about my visit, then enjoyed an Americano with hot milk and a really tasty buttered scone from the cheerful ladies in the cafe. I had never heard of a Red Dragon scone until today, yum!

Decent cafe. Enjoyed a light lunch. Nice to have all the dishes using produce grown on site. Good vegan options and particularly appreciated a really filling bean soup that was enough sustenance for a long road trip.

Loved this great National Trust place. Even though the castle was closed at the time, the gardens were beautiful and the walks were lovely. There's a fantastic shop and cafe too.
